My name is Lisa and I have been
a quilter since 1986. I had always been interested in needlework ever
since I was a young girl. My Grandmother taught me to crochet. My
Mom encouraged me in all my interests growing up.
In 1986, I saw a "make a
quilt in a day" article in a magazine and tried the pattern. It took
me four days to do the quilt top because I had no idea what I was doing. I
loved it. Since then, I have continued to learn and expand my quilting
knowledge and know how.
I consider myself to be a
fabric artist – meaning that fabric is my medium in which to express myself. I
prefer to do traditional patterns in my quilt tops. I quilt each creation
in patterns inspired by the fabric: whimsical whirls, loop-de-loops,
flowers, butterflies, dragonflies, hearts, and script spelling out a word or
words.
